Continuing our long walk in the deaerator building. Take note of the use of wooden doors and doorframes. Have you ever seen a Western nuclear power plant built with WOOD? (Not me.) More broadly, the construction standards here are astonishing: subsiding concrete floors, uneven walls, ill-fitting expansion joints…industrial construction more familiar in a paper mill or a steel plant than a monstrous 4GWe nuclear station.
