The Degelen Mountains
We’re at the boundary of the exclusion area just west of the most prominent peaks in the Degelen Mountains. The road ahead leads to forbidden adits that were used for underground nuclear tests. The surface waters in this area are rich in tritium and fission products leaching out of the ground. At this place, a faint road to the right branches off and leads to the Tel’kem Lakes, which are nuclear craters.
