“Goose” towers

These concrete towers, erected every 1 km or so on a radial line originating at Ground Zero on the P-1 site, were used to mount data-collecting equipment for nuclear tests. Their informal name was “goose”, alluding to the appearance of the complete structure from a distance. Most now are heavily eroded by scrappers scavenging for metal.
