Visiting Vogtle and Bellefonte Nuclear Power Plants » DSC_0067
Behind us is the Unit 3 construction site at Plant Vogtle. The circulating water pipes (i.e. between condensers and cooling towers) and the pad of compacted earth on which the plant will sit are already finished. A pit has been dug to accommodate the AP1000 “nuclear island.” In the background are Units 1 and 2 at full power with vapor rising from the cooling towers.
